Repost This ArticleLora and I will be retiring in 2 years and its time for our children to learn that there will be a day when Mom and Dad will no longer be around to lend a hand.
We love our children and would not want to see them thrown out to the cruel world without a lifeline (us) all at once; so on July 17 2012 my birthday, we will begin the weaning of our children with a 30 day (your on your own kids) experiment.
For thirty days our children will only be able to talk to us by phone, not visit (because theoretically we are not home) ask to borrow anything or need laundry done or get a short term loan. The kitchen will be closed and the showers will also be out of order. Yes I will admit we spoiled our children and that is why they will learn to do without us before we are gone (Traveling) and not at their disposal.
The big Question is who is going to fold first. This is for their own good because it’s a cruel world out there.
